Today I am sharing one of the latest additions to my coat closet, a metallic trench coat. It is metallic all the way. It was love at first sight when I saw it at the recent Mercedes Benz Fashion Week Russia during their Pop-Up Shop.
Metallic outwear is totally in and many US boutiques and online stores offer a great variety. It might not be the first item you gravitate towards when shopping for an outer layer. But this is why here at Oliamoda I hope to push and inspire you to try something different.
So you get your self a metallic jacket or a coat and all of a sudden you are left wondering on how to wear this stylish yet tricky number.
Below are three examples to get you inspired to try it your own way.
1. Wear it with other metallics
You might remember seeing this shimmery number in some of my summer posts. It is the perfect item to transition into the colder season by wearing it over a long-sleeved tee or layering it with a sweater. The shimmery tone compliments the shine of the metallic coat, so if you are ready to shine bright I suggest a bold shine-on-shine pairing. With holiday season practically here, this can be a great option for a festive outing.

2. Wear it with black
A great way to offset your LBD this holiday season is layering it with a metallic coat and adding a pop of color to the lips. You are instantly glammed up and ready to turn heads at your first Holiday Party or a fancy outing. Wearing it with black pants or denim will have a nice effect as well.

3. Keep the rest neutral
The metallic will do all the talking, so you want to keep the rest of your clothing neutral. For instance, white is a great color to compliment shimmer and shine. A see-through pouch bag added a nice modern touch to a classic but vibrant coat.

This season is hot on puffers, so for the sportier kind, I highly recommend getting a metallic puffer jacket. The grey winter days are sure to beam some shine in either one of these outer layers. I picked some great alternatives for you to shop below.
These examples are good idea starters on what you can do with a metallic coat or puffer. The metallic color is loud, so keeping your other garment choices simple is key. Starts with blacks, whites, and pastels but do not be afraid to experiment, I am always just a question away.
Thank you for reading and keep styling,
